The schedule for this position would primarily be Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Flexible scheduling, including some evenings, weekends or holidays may be required. Starting rate of at least $20 per hour.

Position Description
The Event Coordinator is responsible for event coordination, planning and execution of The Rescue Mission events and ensuring they run smoothly. The Event Coordinator should have a love for special event management, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships internally and externally. The Event Coordinator should have the heart of a servant in accordance with Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Serve as the point person for coordination, planning, and execution of The Rescue Mission events under the direction of the Sr. Philanthropy Officer. This includes fundraising events, conferences, awareness, speaking events, luncheons, tours and community holiday meals.
- Lead donation drive efforts in collaboration with gift officers. Coordinate with Marketing and Operations to plan and execute drives throughout the year, anticipating and addressing organizational needs and establishing a calendar of needed items for donation drives.
- Act as a liaison for key volunteers. Coordinating their involvement in community engagement and event opportunities. Represent The Rescue Mission and educate the community on how to be involved.
- Organize facilities and manage all event details such as event logistics, tracking of ticket sales and sponsorship logs, maintaining guest registry and guest’s table assignments, coordinating with venue, catering, decorating, entertainment, transportation, equipment, AV needs etc.
- Initiate and coordinates promotional materials with Marketing Director and volunteer needs with the Manager of Volunteer Engagement.
Other Duties
- Attend quarterly All Staff meetings.

- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Be prepared to pray with and offer spiritual support to others.
Education Training and Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in event coordination and or planning preferred.
- Minimum of an associate’s degree and or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Database experience, preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Flexible scheduling, including some evenings, weekends or holidays may be required.
- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills: the ability to work effectively with donors, volunteers and staff; display superior judgment and diplomatic skills; excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Proven strong negotiating skills and basic budgeting skills.
- Enthusiasm, commitment to excellence, self-motivation, a professional demeanor, is highly organized and detail oriented.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks with organization and accuracy.
- A collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
- Advanced computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) computer databases, internet research and strong knowledge of social media.
- Advanced knowledge of project management and event and fundraising software.
- Ability to work with individuals of various socio-economic, ethnic, and racial populations.
- Ability to comply with personal and business requirements and expectations as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
