Down but not out
After coming to Fort Wayne for a job, Stan found himself in a drunken spiral. That job was supposed to be his ticket to better things- but he quickly bottomed out. After checking into Parkview and receiving medical treatment, he was sent to The Rescue Mission.
Being at The Rescue Mission, Stan found happiness he had never known. He struggled for 30 years in AA, but after hearing staff sing Good Good Father, he felt God within The Mission. Stan said “Any difficulty I ran into, there was a resource and a tremendous amount of support at The Mission.” Stan is now working part time as he was able to retire, has his own place, has replenished his love for music and has an amazing family. “I had nothing and no one when I came to The Mission. They gave me everything. I would not have survived without The Rescue Mission.”
