Finding new motivation
Battling many addictions, Anthony had hit rock bottom and needed a change. Finding The Rescue Mission, he felt motivated and was able to secure a job within 2 days of staying at The Mission. He was saving money and felt he was able to provide for his family, but then tragedy struck. He suffered from a major car accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was in a coma for 2 weeks and after waking up, doctors said he would never walk again. Calling The Rescue Mission right away, Anthony said staff gave him such relief when they said, “don’t worry about anything, we got your back.” Knowing he had a safe place and a family backing him up, that was all the peace Anthony needed. After months of recovery, Anthony began a full-time job at The Hoppy Gnome and volunteered his time in the kitchen. Anthony knows he was given a second chance and a second family. “If it weren’t for The Rescue Mission, I would be dead.”
