Resident Advocate - Regular and Seasonal
We have one full-time 3rd shift opening at our 404 E Washington location. Additionally, we have a full-time 3rd shift opening and a part-time every other weekend opening at Charis House. Starting rate of $15/hour plus shift bonuses!
Additionally, we have the following seasonal (now-April 2023) openings at 40 hours/week. We need weekend coverage, but are flexible on the other days.
- Every Saturday and Sunday + 2/3 days on 1st shift
- Every Saturday and Sunday + 2/3 days on 1st shift
- Every Saturday and Sunday + 2/3 days on 3rd shift
- Every Saturday and Sunday + 2/3 days on 3rd shift

Summary/Objective
The Resident Advocate assures appropriate services are provided for residents and ensures the safe and smooth operation of the house during the assigned shift.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Orients, and supports participants staying at The Rescue Mission; assists participants with basic needs, and ensures safety, security, and adherence to house guidelines.
- Maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information, notifies appropriate staff members, especially Case Managers, of situations requiring action or extra attention.
- Ensures rules are followed to provide a safe environment for participants. This involves administering drug and breathalyzer tests and supervising various common areas of The Rescue Mission.
- Reflects personal integrity in attitude and behavior toward guests, volunteers, participants and staff.
- Performs various rounds on the premises and facilitates the participant sign in process.
- Completes items that were unfinished on previous shifts such as updating Mission Tracker software, statistical work and communication information, updating the supply of forms and filing.
- Responds to emergency situations and refers to the needed resources internally and externally.
Other Duties
- Attend quarterly All Staff meetings.
- Attend monthly Life House staff meetings.

- Be prepared to pray with and offer spiritual support to others.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education Training and Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent experience.
- 1 year of experience in related field preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- CPR & First Aid Certification preferred.
