We have a full-time opening for a Vocational Coordinator at The Rescue Mission. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Position Description
To provide vocational training and management for qualified participants in the Treasure House (TH) Vocational Training Program as well as perform administrative duties and functions for the Vocational Development Team. The Vocational Coordinator should have the heart of a servant in accordance with Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversee the scheduling of participants in various areas of TH, teach skilled trades to participants, track participant goals and progress and troubleshoot with participants any challenges in vocational training program accountability.
- Conduct vocational evaluations/employment readiness assessments.
- Maintain regular contact with case managers through verbal and/or electronic documentation and serve as the primary contact for TH staff.
- Provide referrals to any outside employers when appropriate.
- Participate in workshops and training to better understand and more effectively operate a thrift vocational training environment and train and supervise selected TH staff leaders in job coaching responsibilities of the TH vocational training program.
Other Duties
- Attend quarterly All Staff meetings.

- Be prepared to pray with and offer spiritual support to others.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education Training and Experience
- High school degree required.
- Experience as a team leader or job coach preferred.
- Knowledge of a skilled trade preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of internet and email.
- Knowledge of thrift operations.
- Ability to learn skilled trades as needed.
- Ability to work with individuals of various socio-economic, ethnic, and racial populations.
- Ability to comply with personal and business requirements and expectations as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
- Strong organizational skills are a necessity.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of self-motivation.
